Lower School, Let’s make a difference!

Angie Crabtree
One of the things I love most about being in the Lower School each day is observing the many acts of courage and kindness that happen throughout our classrooms, in the hallways, during lunch, and on the playground. As we adjust to our new schedules, I am challenging every member of our Lower School community to complete 10 acts of courage and kindness. Take a photo or create a video of yourself completing an act and send it to me.

Together…we can share our Lower School LOVE & JOY with others!

Kindness To Others:
  • Create cards and place them in 5 mailboxes in your neighborhood.
  • Leave a treat and note in your mailbox for the mail carrier.
  • Call a family member that does not live with you. Ask them how they are and share what you are learning.
  • Make a KINDNESS MATTERS sign to hang in your home.
  • Clean out your closet or toy area and choose 5 items to donate.
  • Create thank-you cards for people who work at the grocery store.
  • Call 3 friends to see how they are doing!
  • Pick up trash in the area that you live.
  • Leave notes on the pillows of your family members.
  • Wash a parent’s car.
  • Do a household chore without being asked.
  • Entertain someone with a happy dance.
  • Draw or write messages on sidewalks for others to see.
  • Tell someone a joke!
  • Mail your teacher a note or drawing!

Kindness To Yourself:
  • Write in a journal—make a gratitude list.
  • Drink extra water.
  • Go for a walk outside.
  • Practice mindfulness with meditation and yoga poses.
  • Read a book and enjoy your favorite snack.
  • Watch a sunrise or a sunset.
