CA Sophomore Selected for Anthology Publication

Colorado Academy sophomore Mason Smith wins another honor for his writing.  Smith’s work has been selected to be part of an upcoming publication, The Best Teen Writing of 2016 by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program. Says the senior manager of Scholastic’s National Programs, Tendo Mutanda, “We are honored to present Mason’s writing as an example of the very best creative work by our nation’s emerging artists.”

The upcoming publication is an anthology that showcases stories, essays, and poetry by teen authors who earned a National Medal in the 2016 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Smith won a Gold award as part of that competition. In addition to being published in book form, The Best Teen Writing of 2016 will be displayed in the lobby of the U.S. Department of Education’s main building in Washington, D.C. as part of a yearlong exhibition.
