Freshman Wins Award in Paper Fashion Show

Congratulations to freshman Kayla Wollins on her winning dress design, ‘Bipolar,” which won the Star Student Award in the Art Directors Club of Denver’s 12th Annual Paper Fashion show, held on April 22.

Her entry, which featured innovative designs made out of paper, was created to shed light on bipolar disorder. "The colorful, jumpy, irritated side of the dress represents the manic phases and the grayscale side represents the depressive phases," says Kayla.

Proceeds from the show benefit ADCD’s scholarship fund and Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA), which provides community-based arts education programs for at-risk youth ages 3 to 17.
