CA Prepares for “Hour of Code”

 

For the third consecutive year, Colorado Academy will celebrate the Annual Hour of Code, marking Computer Science Education Week from December 7-12, 2015. Students in all three divisions at CA, Lower, Middle and Upper school, will take part in a problem-solving hour of code activity, and they will do so in CA computer labs, on laptops, and on iPads.

 

Hour of Code is a one-hour activity that promotes computer science education. It is designed to expand access to computer science, and in to increase participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Globally, it is estimated that 100 million students in 180 countries will take place in the Hour of Code project.  It has been called the largest learning event in history. There are dozens of online activities and tutorials – available in 40 languages.  (Try these tutorials for coding beginners:  code.org/learn  ) Follow CA’s activities on the school’s social media channels.
