Exploring the Maker Movement

Let’s face it: An iPad in a classroom does not a modern education make—it’s the ability to use that tool and others for project-based learning, which is becoming more and more widely known as the Maker Movement. The Maker Movement is a creative learning revolution underway around the globe that has connected technology with the Do-it-Yourself movement, turning people into creators and makers instead of just consumers. Colorado Academy is preparing students to be part of this movement through our Innovation Lab, robotics and computer courses, Lower School iLab and more. At CA, our 21st Century Skills, which emphasize creativity, collaboration and problem solving, highlight the philosophy behind the Maker Movement. And since we’re always on the lookout for new ideas, here are some of our favorite upcoming Maker Movement events in and around Denver. Check them out to learn more about this revolutionary movement! We’ll see you there.
