Summer & Back-to-School Resources

Middle School

Just a few minutes of reading each day and a refresher in mathematics can be instrumental in preparing your child to return to school in the fall, ready for the new school year! With that in mind, both the summer reading and mathematics review are designed to encourage and maintain the progress your child has made during the course of the previous year.

Below you will find summer math and reading assignments for a student's entering grade in the 2019-2020 school year, as well as supplies and textbook lists and links to helpful resources and downloads.

2019 Summer Math

We hope that you have a terrific summer and that you have the opportunity to refresh your math skills in advance of returning to school in the fall. With this in mind, we will be posting the math summer work packets here on July 31. It is intentional that we want you to complete these review questions in the weeks immediately prior to classes resuming. In this sense, waiting until the first few weeks in August to complete this work is not procrastinating, but desirable.

Packets will be tailored to what you have studied this year. It is designed to refresh your memory on concepts studied and give you practice in the types of thinking and problem solving that will be most helpful to you in the coming year. Students should print out the packet, complete it, and bring it with them on the first day of school.

We look forward to working with you next fall; until then, enjoy your summer.

Sincerely,

The Middle School Math Team
