Chowdry Community Room, Middle School Open to all parents
Join Chris Thurstone M.D. for a presentation on JUULing, vaping, and marijuana. Learn about trends in use among young people, how to recognize the signs of addiction, and ways to support your child to stay on the straight and narrow. Thurstone is board certified in general, child and adolescent and addictions psychiatry. He is the medical director of one of Colorado’s largest youth substance-treatment programs and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD), where he conducts research on youth substance use and addiction and serves as director of medical training for the university’s addiction psychiatry fellowship program. He is a co-author of the 2015 book, Clearing the Haze: Helping Families Face Teen Addiction.
