Keeping it simple is Folsom's mantra. Work hard, do your best. Keep things in perspective. Each day offers new challenges, some small victories, and probably a few defeats. Appreciate what is front of you today; you may never have such opportunities again. Hopefully, leave things better than you found them.
As for her coaching philosophy, Folsom says: "Golf is a lifetime sport, and I hope that I never see anyone reach their full potential before graduating from high school. I hope to instill a love for the sport, and I’m satisfied knowing that student-athletes leave our program with skills that will ultimately enhance the quality of their lives, as well as those around them. Winning is fun, too, and I hope we properly celebrate and appreciate our victories."
Her "words to live by" takeaway is that "Life is so much bigger than athletics, but the life lessons learned through sports are invaluable, and life is more robust when experienced through sport."
