Swimming, Basketball Continue Thru Saturday
The 3A State High School Girls Swimming and Diving competition continues Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2017 at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton. Prelims took place on Friday, February 10.
Colorado Academy’s Girls Swimming and Diving Team swam in the Class 3A – the inaugural year for this class introduced in an effort to spread out the swimmers in the higher 4A and 5A classes. The result is that more athletes were allowed to compete.
Diving prelims will take place Saturday morning, and swimming finals will be in the afternoon. Going into the meet, preps sports writers were watching for a strong showing for CA’s Aly Gallagher (200 free, 100 free) and Anne Younger (50 free, 100 backstroke).
Also on Saturday CA’s Upper School basketball teams are playing at home. The game schedule is as follows: 2:00 p.m. C Boys and JV Girls play against Lutheran. The JV Boys and Varsity girls both face off against Lutheran at 3:30 p.m., and at 5 p.m., the Varsity Boys team also plays Lutheran.
