CA To Welcome Author Jason Reynolds

Critically acclaimed author Jason Reynolds will meet Colorado Academy Middle School students when he visits CA on Friday, February 24, 2017. He is the author of three young adult novels and two middle grade novels, and he’s getting accolades like no other: he is a National Book Awards finalist; he has been interviewed by the New York Times, the LA Times, the Washington Post, NPR; was highlighted in People magazine and Entertainment Weekly; was recently invited to the White House; was awarded by the Library of Congress; and more.

Reynold’s books, As Brave As You, and Ghost, the first book in his middle-grade Track series, have taken the country by storm. His debut young adult novel in 2014, When I Was the Greatest, (recipient of the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe Award for New Talent); The Boy in the Black Suit, (the Coretta Scott King Honor book) and co-author of Black Lives Matters-inspired All American Boys (co-written with Brendan Kiely, also the winner of the Walter Dean Myers Award) are all powerful books in different ways. All American Boys is also part of Colorado Academy’s year-long book theme, “Courage and Conversations.”

Reynolds graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in English, with a concentration in Writing and Rhetoric. He currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. Books are available via an emailed order form from the Tattered Cover. Questions? Contact Allie Bronston.
