Dear Lower School Families,

The amazing weather this week has been a big hit at recess! We have all enjoyed our outdoor time together. Three topic updates for this week below:

Safe2Tell Colorado:
Safe2Tell Colorado is a Colorado model prevention strategy operating under the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, Department of Law. Founded in 2004, Safe2Tell Colorado is the law-enforcement led component of School Safety for the state of Colorado. Colorado schools are required by the Colorado Department of Education to include Safe2Tell Colorado as part of school safety planning.

The mission of Safe2Tell Colorado is to ensure that every Colorado student, parent, teacher, and community member has access to a safe and anonymous way to report any concerns for their safety or the safety of others, with a focus on early intervention and prevention through awareness and education.

How Safe2Tell works: Safe2Tell Colorado calls, web and mobile app tips are answered 24/7/365 by trained communications professionals. Reports are sent to the appropriate school and/or law enforcement agency for investigation and follow-up.

The school counselors have also placed Safe2Tell Colorado posters and flyers in many student common spaces all over the school, in order to provide students with easy visible access to report any concerns for safety or foreseeable harm.

Native American Food Drive Wraps up Friday, 12/3
Please consider donating non-perishable food items to the Wind River Reservation food drive. This effort will benefit the Eastern Shoshone and the Northern Arapaho Tribes, two of the most impoverished tribes, which are located in southern Wyoming. Friday is the final day of collection, and bins will be placed near the Lower School and Upper School circles in the morning.  Thank you for joining us in this food drive.

Vaccination Record Reminder
Coronavirus continues to impact CA families and staff. Vaccination and mask-wearing are two effective ways to reduce the spread of the virus, and the school encourages families to vaccinate those who are eligible. A friendly reminder to please upload completed vaccination card/records to Magnus Health. It’s important to have accurate, up-to-date information about vaccination rates in each division.

A reminder: those who are vaccinated do not have to quarantine if exposed to a case of COVID-19 at school. Our ability to know exactly who might have to quarantine can help the school more effectively respond to cases that might arise in our community.

Happy weekend to all!
