Close bonds, welcoming community embody CA Senior's experience
What grade are you in?
Grade 12

What grade were you in when you started at CA?
I started in the Ninth Grade.

When you think of CA, what comes to mind first?
Community. There is nothing I love more then the close bond and welcoming community that Colorado Academy embodies.

What is your favorite memory of your time at CA?
I will never forget my first day of school, when my brother and his Senior friends surprised me once I arrived. It is a hectic day, but the Seniors wait outside the Upper School to welcome all the Freshman on the first day of school, and at the end of the tunnel of Seniors, my brother and his friends were waiting to welcome me.

What academic subject or class has been challenging to you? What have you done to persevere?
CA is no doubt challenging, but that’s what is so great about it. It pushes its students to strive for greatness and helps them achieve their goals. One of the greatest benefits is the low student-teacher ratio, where there is a chance to develop a strong relationship with my teachers.

Share what you love about CA's arts offerings.
I had never really engaged in arts until coming to CA, but now I have a passion for video. CA provides so many options that it is easy for everyone to find something that interests them. Coming into high school at CA, art was one of the things I dreaded, but now I wish I had started sooner.

Share what you love about your experiences in CA athletics.
I have always loved sports. From a young age, I engaged heavily in athletics for the love of the game, but also for the competition. CA athletics exhibit everything desirable about sports: the competition, commitment, and allow students to enjoy being part of a team.

If you were to create a nonprofit, what would it do?
It would help people get back on their feet after an incident or life setback. It doesn’t matter what caused it, but I would want to help people. At my nonprofit, I would aspire to redirect people’s lives in the right direction whether it be through drug rehab or giving them a warm meal.

What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
I think the most amazing adventure would have to be traveling to a foreign country. Everything is brand new, and there is so much to learn about that culture that it is both exhilarating and challenging.
