Benedict Huts are located approximately six miles via a well-marked trail, from Aspen, CO. The huts are basic (bunk rooms for communal sleeping, photo-voltaic lighting, a wood-burning stove, cooking utensils, and an outhouse), but 'glamping' feels more than sufficient after climbing roughly 2,000 feet in elevation. It's hard work trekking through deep snow, but the views and experience are well worth the effort. * Note: Students need to provide a backcountry ski set-up (skis, boots and skins) or snowshoes.* The cost is $300 and includes transportation, accommodation, avalanche safety equipment, food and instruction.
