The Eldorado Hut is located five miles west of Turquoise Lake, near Leadville, Colo. The path into the hut winds through aspen forest for the first mile and gradually zigzags up a ridge on the north side of the lake. At the hut, views from the south window include a panorama of 14,421-ft. Mount Massive and Bald Eagle Mountain. Only one mile from the hut is fun glade skiing on Mushroom Mountain, and after returning from our tour, we'll fire up the wood-burning sauna to finish off a great day in the Colorado backcountry!

*This hut is generously donated by David and Arlene Cole.*

*Backcountry telemark or AT gear is required and can be rented from Bentgate Mountaineering or Wilderness Exchange.*

The cost is $150 and includes transportation, accommodation, avalanche safety equipment, food and instruction.
