OUR CAMPUS

Hero

Being at Colorado Academy gives young people invaluable time and space to grow in all the ways that matter.

Every day, we make sure our students find opportunities to connect with friends, have a quiet moment, fill up on healthy food, and take care of their own well-being and the planet’s. Our tree-lined, 94-acre campus has something for everyone, and then some: The grassy quads, natural and turf sports fields, a trail for running and hiking, and even a pond with an island science classroom mean discoveries are around every corner.

And Then There's the View

Just minutes to the west, the Rocky Mountains provide the backdrop for our competitions and celebrations, casual walks and picnic lunches, swim lessons in the outdoor pool, and unforgettable CA moments like Commencement and Giant Relay Day.

Start Your Day

In the Lower School, students stop by their locker and settle into their homeroom for quiet reading, homework, or teacher conversation before Morning Meeting.

Middle School students have time to chat with teachers and friends before classes start; Sixth Graders have a Core classroom, which combines English, social studies, and advisory.

And in the Upper School, students can come early to work in Raether Library, meet friends in the lounges, or find teachers for a quick conversation.

Ready, Set, Rotate

Every grade at CA follows a rotating schedule that allows dedicated time for core subjects, the arts, physical education or athletics, meetings with advisors and counselors, and downtime during recess or breaks.

Take Care

Social and emotional well-being are so important to us, they’re built right into the daily schedule.

Lower School students follow a Responsive Classroom model that grounds each day in practices that build community and support.

In the Middle School, students meet with their advisory peers daily for serious discussions and fun and games alike.

Upper School students, too, take advantage of advisory meetings and academic help time every day.

Play!

Recess is for everyone, and at CA, all students relish daily sessions on the playgrounds, on the grassy quads, or in the Upper School lounges.

The fun continues with Lower School physical education and Middle and Upper School athletics. There’s an interscholastic or intramural team for everyone who wants to compete.

Refuel at Lunch

There’s a reason lunch is included in our tuition: Everyone loves Chef Paul’s varied daily offerings in our Dining Hall! The home-cooking station, vegetarian and vegan options, pizza bar, grill and sandwich counters, and huge salad bar mean there’s something for every taste.

Stay After School

There’s so much to do at CA, it’s hard to fit it all into a day.

Lower School offers a variety of enrichment opportunities—from athletics to art to STEM classes.

Student-led clubs happen weekly in the Middle and Upper School, and affinity groups welcome students of all ages.

For Upper School students, sports and theater happen after school, too. Most stay for one or more of these every day!
