Colorado Academy

The 2026 Taste of CA swept up Colorado Academy families on a world tour of cuisines, cultures, arts, and crafts from across the CA community. Held January 12 in the CA Athletic Center, the festive annual event drew hundreds of students of all ages and their teachers and families to visit 22 heritage stations, where they could sample traditional dishes, try games and handicrafts, and learn about language and history.

Ethiopia

This year’s destinations included Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Norway, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, the State of Louisiana, Thailand, Ukraine, United States, and Vietnam.

Mexico

According to Assistant Head of School Amy Wintermeyer, “The Taste of CA is one of my favorite community-building events at CA. It brings our vibrant community together to honor both the richness of our diversity and the beauty of our unity.”

Thailand

2026 marked the second year to feature an array of heritage stations organized by CA families, who presented a mix of delectable food, interesting facts and traditions, and fun games. Says Wintermeyer, “I am so grateful to CA parent Myrna Moncayo-Iyengar for her remarkable leadership of this event. Myrna’s dedication and vision, coupled with the tireless work of families, students, faculty, and staff, made for a night to remember.”

India

After touring the world, guests were treated to a performance by the Middle School Steel Pan Ensemble conducted by Dr. Kevin Padworski and featuring his arrangements of classics such as Bob Marley’s “One Love.”
