“While we have hosted some incredible musicians at CA, Wilco has been at the top of my wishlist for the CA Concert series since it started in 2010,” says Head of School Dr. Mike Davis. “To have a Grammy-winning act of this caliber perform on our campus is a rare privilege, and I can’t wait to share this incredible night of music with our community.”

Wilco

This year, we have streamlined the CA Concert to focus on a single, powerful performance by one of rock’s most celebrated bands. Hailing from Chicago, Wilco has been celebrated as “one of the greatest American rock bands performing today,” according to CBS Sunday Morning. Led by prolific songwriter Jeff Tweedy, the multiple-Grammy Award-winning band has spent decades evolving its sound, which deftly blends alternative rock, Americana, and experimental textures.

Get to know Wilco:

  • To help the community dive into Wilco’s distinctive sound, Mike Davis has created a Spotify playlist of the songs performed at their last Denver concert.
  • Jeff Tweedy was recently featured in a fantastic profile on CBS Sunday Morning (February 2026). In a sit-down interview at his Chicago studio, Jeff discussed the power of music as a “strategy for survival” and the inspiration behind his massive 30-track album, Twilight Override.

Support for Financial Aid

All net proceeds from the Concert support Colorado Academy’s financial aid program. For the 2025-26 school year, CA provided $5.8 million in financial aid to 18% of students. The school’s financial aid budget is also funded by The CA Fund, a percentage of tuition, and the endowment.

“A healthy campus thrives on the intellectual tension that only a truly diverse student body can provide,” says Head of School Dr. Mike Davis. “Strengthening our financial aid program allows us to draw from a wider pool of backgrounds, ensuring that CA is never an echo chamber. This commitment is a fundamental pillar of our mission to keep a CA education accessible to the brightest minds, regardless of financial means.”

How to support the CA Concert

There are a variety of ways to support the Concert! Individual tickets ($300) include all food and beverages and limited open seating for the Wilco performance. Want to meet Jeff Tweedy and other members of Wilco? Consider purchasing a Meet-the-Band ticket ($600). Financial assistance for tickets is available to families who are currently receiving tuition assistance. Please note that this event is for guests 21+.

Patron Package benefits include a meet-and-greet with the performers, access to a reserved Sponsor/Patron seating area and Patron Bar & Lounge near the stage, and Patron Gift Bags featuring the official CA Concert 2026 poster. Patron levels are available for two to eight people, and the deadline to reserve a Patron Package is Friday, April 17.

The online Silent Auction during the week prior to the CA Concert will be open to everyone (not just those attending the May 9 concert). It will feature items at a variety of price points, including teacher experiences, sports and outdoor packages, cuisine and wine, and unique opportunities for groups.

In addition to the Wilco performance, the evening features a Pre-Party with food and drinks plus a meet-and-greet for Patrons, Sponsors, and Meet-the-Band ticket holders. Additionally, guests will have the chance to bid on a curated selection of music-themed and rare Live Auction items before Wilco takes the stage.

Concert series history

The CA Concert series, launched in 2010 with the inaugural event featuring Lyle Lovett, has helped to raise almost two million dollars in support of financial aid. Other performers have included Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin in 2012, Bruce Hornsby in 2014, Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats in 2016, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue in 2018, Isaac Slade of The Fray and Rodrigo y Gabriela in 2022, and Nathaniel Rateliff and Margo Price in 2024. In alternating years, CA hosts its biennial Auction event.

“The CA Concert really reflects who we are as a community,” says Dr. Mike Davis. “It only happens because people show up for this school and for one another in extraordinary ways. I’m deeply grateful for that support and genuinely excited about what this year’s concert will make possible for our students.”
