A Message from CA’s Head of School

On behalf of our entire community, I’m delighted to welcome your family to CA.

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you will make together. At CA, you’ll find a place that honors both rigorous academics and the whole person your child is becoming. Our students don’t just excel in the classroom—they collaborate across disciplines, pursue their curiosities, and support one another as they grow.

What makes our community special is the genuine relationships that form here. Your child will be known by their teachers, encouraged by their peers, and challenged to think deeply about the world around them. Whether they’re exploring new subjects, contributing their voice to important conversations, or discovering unexpected talents, they’ll have the space and support to thrive.

We can’t wait to see all that your child will accomplish at Colorado Academy.

Advice for New Students

Caroline Hagen
A smiling young woman with long blonde hair against a plain white background.

You never have to prove yourself to others; focus on being a better person than you were yesterday.

Caroline Hagen, Class of 2026

Jack Braun

Stepping outside of your comfort zone can help you discover new interests, build confidence, and better prepare you for the future.

Jack Braun, Class of 2026

Marques Esquibel

Say yes to as many opportunities as you can. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Marques Esquibel, Class of 2026

Alexander Bank

Take the opportunities you are given, even if it doesn't feel right. You will surprise yourself.

Alexander Bank, Class of 2026

Katie Bergsieker

Give yourself some grace. It is everyone’s first time living, and no one has everything “put together” all the time, even if they look like they do.

Katie Bergsieker, Class of 2026

Keren Laizer

Try EVERYTHING. Try out new sports, clubs, and classes. Take note of what you do or do not like, and this should help you decide what you might be interested in as you grow.

Keren Laizer, Class of 2026

Liam McKee
A smiling young man with dark hair and a friendly expression against a plain white background.

Put in the work early in high school so you have a good baseline and routine for the rest of your education.

Liam McKee, Class of 2026

Chloe London

Be yourself, do what makes you happy, and find people who support you.

Chloe London, Class of 2026

Thomas Rollhaus

Johanna Mata
A young woman with long dark hair and a warm, friendly smile is the focus of the image, which appears to be a professional headshot or portrait photograph taken against a plain white background.

Don’t get stuck on grades. Rather, focus on the feedback you receive from your teachers. You learn better when you’re motivated, so keep looking for constructive criticism.

Justin Schwartzreich

Rosie Risch
A smiling young woman with long dark hair, wearing glasses and a black top, against a plain white background.

For every mistake you make in Upper School, you will triumph 100 times. Do not let this one error erase your sense of success or prevent you from believing them when a teacher, friend, or family member says, “I am proud of you.”

Rosie Risch, Class of 2026

Isa Vargas

Enjoy this journey and focus on your own growth instead of comparing yourself to others.

I wish I could say there’s a simple way to navigate the next years of your life — there isn’t. It’s going to be fun in ways you could never have predicted. It’s going to challenge you to break barriers you didn’t even know existed. But no matter what, be unabashedly, unapologetically, enthusiastically you, and everything else will become clear in time.
