All About Love by bell hooks, an iconic American Black feminist writer
(
bell hooks is the pen name of Gloria Jean Watkins)
Published in 2000, All About Love is a personal and
academic examination of love—
parental, platonic, romantic, communal, and self—
within the cultural contexts of patriarchy, capitalism, and white supremacy.
As she works to establish a definition and understanding
of love, hooks generates a practical manual for
living in conscientiously loving ways.
