ACADEMICS
Hero
A Colorado Academy education is adventurous.
Every day, our experienced educators seek out innovative ways to nurture and challenge the whole child through a rigorous curriculum rooted in the liberal arts and sciences. Our evidence-based classrooms inspire students of every age to look deeper, to question their own assumptions, and to relish the kind of learning that comes from shared inquiry and discovery.
At CA, we want our students to ask, “Why?” and also to have the freedom and courage to ask, “Why not?”

Lower School
CA’s Lower School experience lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Our students in Pre-K through Grade 5 dig into a challenging and wide-ranging curriculum that teaches critical thinking while emphasizing the acquisition of skills and attitudes that allow them to express ideas effectively and to solve problems both independently and with others.
Middle School
Middle School is a time to celebrate change, discovery, and growth, and CA’s curriculum for Grades 6-8 honors the excitement of these critical years. Our Middle School program supports and challenges each child’s desire to explore, to set and achieve goals, and to navigate their emerging intellectual and personal passions.
Upper School
The CA Upper School program prepares students for advanced study through small classes, the mentorship of exceptional faculty members, and genuine support for student-driven inquiry. From foundational Ninth Grade coursework in English and social studies—which grounds students’ thinking in the recognition of their place in an ever-changing world—to Advanced Studies and Research and Post-AP offerings, Upper Schoolers receive the time and space to soar academically.
Go Beyond the Classroom
A CA education encourages students to venture well outside their comfort zones.
