3-A May Homework
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Nights
Special Homework Week
May 11-15 is the week when 3-A students suspend Genre Reading
and embark upon a special project with Greek Myths. The students will start reading and summarizing
Greek myths in the classroom during the first week of May, and then during the
week of May 11 the project is finished at home.
Genre Reading Homework
May 4-7 & 18-27 is Genre Reading with a Reading Response Letter due by
May 28. The assignment is the same as
January's, February's, March's, and April's Genre Reading, except for the fact
that the children need to read a book from a different genre.
Math Homework
1)
Addition &
subtraction and multiplication 0-5 & division 0-5 facts will be tested
during the second week of May. (Parents
also may request multiplication 0-9 & division 0-9 assessments.) Students are assessed individually during
Specials and are timed for one minute for addition, one minute for subtraction,
one minute for multiplication, and one minute for division. Scores will be sent home in the Friday
Folder.
2)
Study Math Facts
or Skills for at least 5 minutes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
nights. You also can work on MathScore Skills, any of
the third grade topics, for 5 minutes (http://ca.co.mathscore.com) for one or all of the nights.
3)
An assignment
sheet or a workbook assignment will be sent home on Monday & Thursday
nights.
Spelling/Dictation
Homework
1)
Study for
Thursday's dictation test for at least 5 minutes on Monday, Tuesday, and
Wednesday nights. There is no dictation
test on May 28.
2)
Students who need
to review High-Frequency Spelling words can review the words on Thursday night.
