Volunteer & Internships
Horizons at Colorado Academy is a national, non-profit program that offers student enrichment designed specifically for children from low-income families. Founded in 1964 at a private school in Connecticut, Horizons is committed to the development of the whole child through experiences that enhance self-esteem, foster responsibility, build problem-solving skills, and encourage a life-long interest in learning. The program emphasizes academic enrichment, social growth with structured group dynamics, swimming lessons and sports participation, life-skills, cultural experiences, and the arts.

In 1998, CA launched its own Horizons Program by extending its facilities to help 13 Kindergarten children from nearby Spanish-speaking neighborhoods, and today this program has grown to serve 110 students for six weeks every summer and six selected “Super Saturdays” during the school year.
