 | Paul Maes, Athletic Director “Our athletics program is built on four principles. The first is participation: every student should be actively involved. The second is excellence: improving one’s skills over time. The third is character growth: learning teamwork and responsibility. The fourth is the balancing of mind, body, and spirit. That is the essence of education.” |
Athletics are an integral and invigorating component of the CA experience. In addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle, athletics at CA teach students leadership, teamwork, competitiveness, and fairness. Participation also encourages social interaction and promotes personal growth for students.
CA is proud of its winning tradition and the sportsmanship of its athletes. Our teams have held state championships for men’s soccer, women’s soccer, field hockey, ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse and women's golf. In addition, our no-cut policy ensures that all students have equal access to each and every sport. CA has consistently won the Colorado High School Activities Association Sportsmanship Award.
Newton Athletic Center The Newton Athletic Center and the outdoor facilities provide students with two gymnasiums, a fully equipped weight room, an indoor track and climbing wall, an outdoor pool, a baseball diamond, eight outdoor tennis courts, and five athletic fields, including an artificial turf field.
Mustang Nation Mustang Nation is a group of volunteer parents that encourages school spirit and attendance at CA’s Upper School athletic events while supporting CA coaches, athletes, and the athletic director. Each sport’s Spirit representatives help facilitate effective communication between coaches and parents by managing the administrative details of the team. |
