CA to Welcome Record Number of Grandparents

Colorado Academy is set to welcome more than 400 grandparents on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, the school's official "Grandparents Day." The day officially begins with a performance for grandparents in the small gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. followed by classroom visits, lunch, and the opportunity for photographs. Activities wrap up at 1:30 p.m., with student dismissal at the normal 3:30 p.m. time. Visitors will be directed by the CA Operations Staff to the closest available parking. The schedule will be:

9:30 a.m. Welcome and Performance

Newton Athletic Center, Small Gym

Address by Head of School, Dr. Mike Davis, and Musical Performance by CA Students.

Note: Doors close promptly at 9:30 a.m.

10:00 a.m. Classroom Visits

Student guides will escort grandparents to grandchild’s classrooms.

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Pictures

Lifetouch Studios will be available to take pictures of grandparents and grandchildren in the Lower School Library. Package and pricing will be available to you at that time.

10:40 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch

Students will escort their grandparents to the Campus Center at the times listed below:

10:40 a.m. – Pre-K 11:30 a.m. – Kindergarten

Sadler Room

10:40 a.m. – 3rd and 5th Grades

11:20 a.m. – 1st Grade

11:30 a.m. – 2nd and 4th Grades

12:15 p.m. – 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades

1:00 p.m. – 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Grades

Dining Hall

The Day officially ends for grandparents at 1:30 p.m. School dismissal will be at the normal time for students. After lunch, the Welborn House study will be open for grandparents to enjoy coffee, conversation, and relaxation while waiting for their transportation home.

Note: Grandparents Day involves walking throughout the campus, so comfortable shoes are suggested.
