CA provides these programs as a service to the community and as part of the school’s commitment to life-long learning.

Lecturers include Time and Atlantic investigative journalist Amanda Ripley and author of The Smartest Kids in the World and How They Got That Way.  In October, Wall Street Journal and LA Times reporter Sonia Nazario will talk about her book, Enrique’s Journey, the story of a Honduran boy’s struggle to find his mother in the U.S. Marking the ten-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Lt. General Russel Honore, who managed the city of New Orleans’ recovery in the wake of the storm, will speak about leadership and preparedness in the “new normal.” Education futurists Anya Kamenetz and Andrew Zolli will speak on topics ranging from testing and assessment in the U.S. to how schools can teach children to be more resilient.
Other speakers include the author of Raising Happiness, Dr. Christine Carter, and Dr. Scott Sampson, paleontologist and science communicator and author of How to Raise a Wild Child, and learning differences expert, Jonathan Mooney.
