Girls Lacrosse Takes State Title
The Colorado Academy Girls Lacrosse Team took the state title for the first time in 15 years tonight after defeating Cherry Creek 8-3 in the 2015 CHSAA Girls Lacrosse State Championship.
Points were scored by freshman Lauren Russell; sophomore Claire Wright; juniors Ella Annest and Emma Richards; and senior Henley Hall.
Says Athletic Director Bill Hall, “The victory tonight is just icing on the cake for an unbelievable athletic year at Colorado Academy.”
Girls Lacrosse, which finishes its season with a 16-3 record, now joins the Girls Soccer Team as 2015 state champions. Girls Golf also recently came in second in the 4A State Championship.
Says Hall of the team, now on its ninth title win: “The kids have all worked incredibly hard and it’s just fun to see them play tonight.”
