Field Hockey Team Heads for 3rd Straight at State

The Colorado Academy Varsity Field Hockey Team will attempt a third consecutive state title on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at All-City Stadium after its 1-0 OT win on Wednesday over Denver East. The exciting overtime match had fans dreading a 0-0 score at the end of overtime, which would have resulted in a shoot-out. The Mustangs faced that same situation two years ago against Palmer Ridge and won after an agonizing and confusing shoot-out win.

On Wednesday night, after repeated shots on goal and with just 30 seconds left in overtime, senior Julia Murphy put in the winning shot with an assist from Henley Hall.

The team entered the semifinal as the No.1-seed and has now gone 51 consecutive games without suffering a loss. On Saturday, CA will play the winner of Wednesday night's game between Kent Denver and Palmer Ridge.
