Field Hockey Ranked #1 at Start of Season

Pre-Season practice is underway at Colorado Academy, and the girls Field Hockey team has been ranked number one by CHSAA’s weekly coaches poll.

Headed in to the 2014 season, CA welcomes its new coach, Australian Veronica Scott. Scott holds a Bachelor's degree in Middle and Secondary Education and is currently pursuing her Master's degree. Scott has been on the collegiate Field Hockey coaching staff at Wake Forest University, and has coached club hockey in Australia and Belgium. She played with the Australian Country Women’s Team from 2002-2004 and served as co-captain.  As a student, she was the winner of various awards for hockey, indoor cricket, softball, and other athletic honors. She holds Australian certificates in First Aid, Sports Medicine, Personal Training, and more.  She is coming to CA from Queensland, Australia.

Jenn Averill, Wake Forest University Coach for the past 22 years, with whom Veronica Scott coached at Wake says, “Veronica Scott is a spectacular hire for CA to lead their hockey program.  She’s a home run.  Veronica is sincere, direct and fully understands where sport fits into our lives.  With Veronica, CA hockey won’t miss a beat.”
