You feel it on your way to Welborn House as you walk under the 100-year-old cottonwoods and pass by a group of seventh graders learning the art of photography. You see it on the faces of third graders on their way to Woody’s pond for an hour of scientific exploration. You hear it in our honors Spanish seminar or in rehearsal for one of Colorado Academy’s dramatic productions. You notice it on the lacrosse and soccer fields and on the basketball courts.
It may take a while to put your finger on it, but the longer you remain on campus the clearer it becomes: our students and teachers have a genuine enthusiasm for life and learning. That enthusiasm helps students to excel in school today, in college tomorrow, and in life beyond formal education.
A century of experience has taught us that the best way for students to achieve academic excellence is to provide a positive, innovative environment where inspiring teachers make learning come alive. Small classes, creative programs, regular meetings with advisors, community service, experiential learning, strong parent participation, and an adherence to the ideals of a liberal arts and sciences education help Colorado Academy students build a foundation for years to come.
Our state-of-the-art classrooms, libraries, science and computer labs, art studios, athletic facilities, music center, and theatre enhance our educational program, but it is the genuine thirst for knowledge that our students and teachers display that makes CA exceptional. From Pre-Kindergarten to twelfth grade, students wholeheartedly embrace the challenge of a Colorado Academy education.
