Volunteering
Volunteers enrich the educational experience through commitment and involvement.
Overview
While all CA parents are automatically members of the Parent Association, we encourage parents to become actively involved. We support various forms of parent voluntarism, such as assisting on campus in the classrooms and library, organizing book fairs and carnivals, or chaperoning on field trips and running a concession booth at athletic activities. Please scroll down to find an alphabetical listing of volunteer activities and a volunteer sign-up form.
To learn more about ways you can participate in the CA Parent Association, contact Jill Moore, Parent Association Volunteer Coordinator: send e-mail.

CROSS-DIVISIONAL VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
(LS = Lower School, MS = Middle School and US = Upper School)
Admissions Host Families & Ambassadors:
Host Families: Coordinator: Admissions Office 303-914-2513
Parents help new families become familiar with life at CA. An established CA family is paired with a new family to provide monthly updates on upcoming activities and events, help answer questions, and ease the transition for the new family. We need Host Families in all grade levels. Commitment runs early in the school year.
Ambassadors: Coordinators: Diane Spickert and Lora Allan. Volunteers provide tours for prospective new families visiting the school from December - March.
After Prom: Chairs: Becky Dickman and Pam Hoffer
The After-Prom is a fun, safe inclusive alternative to multiple parties following the Prom. Parents from all four US grades work together to plan the all-night event. Traditionally, freshmen parents chaperone, while others take on a variety of organizational tasks.
Arts Around: Chairperson: Rosemarie Wipfelder Kumpe and Lesley Argent.
Arts Around provides year-round classroom and teacher support that integrates art into the classrooms. Volunteers assist with art projects, make presentations, supply teachers with curriculum-related prints from our art library, and put up prints in the libraries of the three divisions. NO ART BACKGROUND IS NEEDED.
Art Show Assistance: Coordinators: Carmen Hall and Katherine Ehringer.
Takedown: Kris Franklin
Help is needed in the month before the Art Show to organize, mat and label student pieces of art and photographic work in preparation for the Art Show May 5, 2008. Help is also needed to hang and remove pieces.
CA Signage: Sandra Kelly
Individual responsible for updating the weekly signage located at the CA exit.
CA Open House: Coordinator: Admissions Office 303-914-2513
Members of the CA community assist the Admissions Department at CA Open House by giving prospective families tours of the campus and answering questions about the school (from 8 am – Noon). One hour training session one week prior to open house is requested.
Celebrating Culture and Diversity: Chairs: Mary Anne Shube, Becky Dickman,
Jeannine Carter.
Volunteers are needed to help in creating and planning all-school activities that celebrate the richness of cultures and diversity that reside in our CA community.
Circle of Concern: Chair: Carol Davis and Mary Anne Shube.
Parents share knowledge in the area of substance abuse prevention and also examine development, behavior and risks of all age children through discussions, speakers, films, articles, etc. in meetings during the year. In addition to parent attendees, participants may include administrators, school psychologists, and faculty. Volunteers may make copies, call speakers and assist with posting notices among other needs.
