Financial Aid
We believe that all deserving students should have the opportunity to attend CA, regardless of their individual economic situation.

CA offers one of the largest financial aid budgets of any independent school in the state—in excess of $1.85 million. Funded by the Parent Association’s annual auction, donations, grants from foundations, and investment income, CA’s financial aid budget supports approximately 14% of the current student body.

Financial aid is awarded on the basis of demonstrated need, as determined by factors such as income, number of children, age of parents, other tuitions, unusual medical expenses, taxes, assets, and liabilities. Because financial aid is treated as a gift from the school to the receiving family, there are no repayment requirements.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

To be considered for financial aid, families must complete the following steps by February 15.

1.    Check “yes” in response to the question, “Would you like to receive financial aid forms?” located on the CA application.  We will then send you our financial aid packet.

2.    Submit a completed Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) to the School Scholarship Service (SSS) in Princeton, New Jersey. The SSS formula will provide CA with a preliminary estimate of financial need.  You may complete this form at
www.nais.org/financialaid/sss.

3.    Send a copy of your current and previous year's IRS federal tax return (Form 1040), and a current year W-2 form directly to Colorado Academy.
