Boettcher Foundation Challenge Grant
The Boettcher Foundation has awarded a $500,000 challenge grant to Colorado Academy to create a financial aid endowment aimed at increasing the socioeconomic and ethnic diversity within the CA student body.

The grant was awarded with the hope that it will be leveraged to raise an additional $2.5 million, over the next five years, from other donors. “CA has been working with the Boettcher Foundation over the past few years to solidify this grant and we are thrilled and honored to be given this opportunity,” says Head of School Chris Babbs. “We are grateful to be the recipient of a grant of this significance, indicating the Boettcher Foundation’s confidence in us and its commitment to expanding educational opportunities through financial aid.”

“The unique part of this fund, which will total at least $3 million, is a stipulation from the Boettcher Foundation that allows a family to be eligible for financial aid if 20 percent or more of their adjusted gross income goes toward CA’s tuition costs. This should help fund more of our middle class families that have not qualified for financial assistance in the past,” says Bob Schmitz, Director of Development.
